Cutting Edge Chemical Project in the Heartland of America

Scheck Industries has successfully completed Phase I and on the way to completing Phase II for a multinational chemical corporation in the heart of the Midwest. Scheck has been acting as the Prime Contractor for the last year. Scheck is building a next generation processes in an ultra-high tech plant which will ultimately yield a groundbreaking product already possessing advance orders from major corporations and governments in the aviation and defense industries.

Scheck was originally awarded the project based on its adaptability in the field. From 2008- 2010 Scheck was a major contractor on a similar new technology project. New technology projects require a Project Team with adaptability only earned through experience building first generation processes. Building facilities with new process technologies are challenging projects to execute simply because they never have been designed and constructed before. Value Engineering and field expertise assist in overcoming execution problems. Scheck Project Teams possess the ability to interpret sophisticated design data and transform it into a practical field construction plans. In many cases Scheck's Project Team is working hand in hand with the process engineers on site to solve installation, operation and construction issues real-time.

Project scope consisted of fabrication and installation of process and service piping, installation of process equipment, and installation and calibration of instrumentation. Scheck Technical Services was chosen for the instrumentation due to our vast experience in installation, and our ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems during start-up.

A major factor in the ongoing success of this project was Scheck's ability to collaborate across all multiple divisions and sub-contractors to enhance performance and deliver results. The off-site fabrication at our Joliet facility proved central to the overall support of just-in-time delivery of piping required for the facility.
