The U.S. Steel – Keetac Mine

Keetac Mine spring shutdown work was perfomed by Scheck Industrial Corporation (SIC). The project required a compilation of all labor disciplines, including the following: 16 pipefitters, 12 boilermakers, 6 millwrights, 7 ironworkers, 2 carpenters, 3 laborers, and 2 operators with management and safety personnel, all working for another successful Scheck project. The crew replaced the grate and dust collector launderers in the pellet plant with repairs to catwalks handrails. In the Concentrator Building, the team replaced launderers from the mag seperators to feed tanks. The project team replaced Automatic Ball Chargers including new feed chutes. SIC did repair work on 10 tunnels, conveyors, structural support repairs per orbital inspections. SIC installed new liners in feeders, rougher tub and launderer, new water lines for the concentrator equipment from 36 inch pipe down to 8 inch with new valves and headers. The SIC team finished this project on time with a perfect safety record.
